DeskSpace – the best Virtual Desktop Manager for Windows:

DeskSpace was the first desktop manager to make the cube-style desktop feature available on Microsoft Windows. It has many customizations which makes it very user-friendly.

Features that excels Deskspace :

1. 3D rotation (Cube)

By clicking Win + Ctrl (rotate using arrows or moving mouse by left clicking) you can look your virtual Desktops in the form of a cube in 3D which will be really amazing to see. The good thing is that you can change the wallpaper of your every desktop and also the background of your 3D cube , which gives you a bit more command over desktop looks. To change the backgrounds right click deskspace icon (in the system tray) -> manage -> Desktop Backgrounds and choose the desktops which you want your wallpapers to be put or fill colour and other customizations.

This is the most convenient feature which an user needs. Having so many virtual desktops but without fast switching goes in vain. Generally with the help of the mouse right clicking deskspace icon in system tray will show you all the six desktops clicking on any one takes you to that desktop. Using the default shortcuts( Win + Ctrl + arrow keys) you can switch to desktops but you can modify those shortcuts in the simplest manner. Just right click Deskspace icon in system tray ( bottom right) and go to configure ->General Options -> Hot Keys and enter the keys which you generally don’t use on your keyboard like home, end, page up, page down buttons and click save changes. Thats it on pressing one key on your keyboard you can go to that desktop faster, pretty simple!

And using this deskspace you can limit the application usage only to specific desktop or you can make your application accessible to all the desktops by application assignment. Few setting for effecting Deskspace usage:

For convenience you can change the name of the desktop and the icon which it displays when you zoom out or hover your mouse on deskspace icon to something like  book icon  or camera or star icons etc.
You can customize the speed of your zooming in and out of your 3D cube and also your mouse buttons for easy zooming and selecting etc. You can also adjust graphics of your 3D cube and rotation as per hardware available. Language, system tray icon size, image, taskbar management and many other minute customizations are also available in Deskspace. And if you want to know about all the features then just go tinkering it by going to manage and configure options which will give you a clear idea about deskspace.

In the beginning of this article we’ve said that deskspace also plays a role in privacy protection. Yes effective usage of deskspace has privacy protection. Let’s say you’re dealing with an application or a file which is your personal and suddenly you find your friend coming to you then without closing that app or the file you can simply switch to another desktop which you have designed with the things that can be public. To achieve that trick hundred percent you should have first designed one click shortcut to switch to other public desktop faster, next you should have assigned your personal file or app to only one specific desktop and adjust your speed of your desktop switching to faster speed, you should remove or hide the deskspace icon from system tray so that no one knows that you were using deskspace, and all the shortcuts of your deskspace should be easy for your switching(Switching should be like eyeblink). And people never know about the file you’re dealing or hiding something from them.
So following all these you can ensure 100 percent privacy from the people who peep or use your computer.

Unfortunately, DeskSpace is not available for free now. Actually it was developed as freeware up to version 1.4 but after Otaku Software acquisition it became trialware, not freeware. But you can use it with full features for 14 days. After that you need to buy or reinstall it. If you like virtual desktops then it’s worth to buy.
